Pinecrest: A Closer Look at This Corner of Fairfax County

Pinecrest is one of the established neighborhoods in Fairfax County, with the mature trees and settled character that come with a community that’s been in place for decades.

Pinecrest sits in a part of Fairfax County that filled in well before much of the newer development elsewhere in the region, which means mature landscaping and a settled, lived-in feel rather than the look of a recently built subdivision.

Like most of inside-the-Beltway Fairfax County, the area offers reasonable access to the Capital Beltway and the region’s major commuter routes, making it a practical option for commuters headed toward DC, Alexandria, or Tysons.

Housing in Pinecrest reflects its build era, generally older than the large planned communities further out in the county, which tends to mean a wider range of finishes from one home to the next depending on whether and how much a given property has been updated.

When I’m working with a buyer in Pinecrest, I pay close attention to the age of major systems given the neighborhood’s more established housing stock, and I compare how recently a given home has been updated against similar homes currently on the market.

Whether you’re a buyer drawn to Pinecrest’s established character, or you’ve owned here for years and are thinking about a sale, I’m glad to go through the current market with you directly.
