Kings Park: A Closer Look at This Corner of Fairfax County

Kings Park is one of the older, more settled neighborhoods inside the Beltway-adjacent part of Fairfax County, built out along the Braddock Road corridor near Burke Lake with the mature trees and larger lots that come with a mid-century neighborhood.

Kings Park grew up along Braddock Road, close to Burke Lake Park and the Accotink Creek stream valley, which still gives the area a good amount of green space and trail access for a neighborhood this close to the rest of Fairfax County’s development.

Braddock Road connects out to the Capital Beltway and the Fairfax County Parkway, which makes for a reasonable drive toward Tysons, Fort Belvoir, or the Pentagon depending on which direction your day takes you. It’s a more car-dependent commute than some closer-in Metro-accessible neighborhoods, but central enough within the county to stay practical.

Most of the housing stock is brick ramblers and split-levels from the 1960s, set on lots that tend to run larger than what you’ll find in newer Fairfax County subdivisions. Mature trees are the norm rather than the exception here.

When I’m working with a buyer in Kings Park, I look closely at the age of major systems given how much of the housing stock dates to the same building era, and I compare how recently a given home has been updated against similar homes currently on the market so a buyer has real context for the price.

Whether you’re a buyer drawn to Kings Park’s lot sizes and mature setting, or you’re a longtime owner weighing a sale, I’m glad to walk through the current market with you directly, with real numbers rather than predictions.
