Ferry Farms: A Closer Look at This Corner of Stafford County

Ferry Farms sits in Stafford County near the Rappahannock River, not far from the historic Ferry Farm site across the water in Fredericksburg, in an established part of the county that’s settled in well ahead of some of Stafford’s newer growth corridors.

Ferry Farms is close to the river and to Fredericksburg just across it, giving residents easy access to everything in that area without actually being inside the city. It’s a more settled, established neighborhood than much of the newer development further out along the I-95 corridor in Stafford County.

Route 3 and the broader Fredericksburg-area road network connect the neighborhood to I-95 and the VRE for anyone commuting north toward Quantico or the DC area, while also keeping Fredericksburg’s own shopping, dining, and services close for day-to-day life.

Housing in Ferry Farms is a mix of established single-family homes, generally older than the large planned communities built further out in the county, which tends to mean more mature trees and more varied lot sizes than a newer subdivision.

When I’m working with a buyer in Ferry Farms, I pay close attention to the age of major systems given the neighborhood’s more established housing stock, and I compare proximity to the river and to Fredericksburg itself, since both factor into price differently depending on the exact location within the neighborhood.

Whether you’re drawn to Ferry Farms for its location near the river and Fredericksburg, or you’ve owned here for years and are weighing a sale, I’m glad to go through the current numbers with you directly.
